The site-specific installation by Nello Petrucci will be inaugurated on Saturday 10 October 2020 at 4.30 pm in Torre Fossa lo Papa "Margine": an open-air iron sculpture that will visually dialogue with the Mediterranean landscape of Punta Campanella, in Massalubrense.
The sixteenth-century Tower, an ancient Saracen bulwark with its wonderful views of the Bay of Naples and the nearby Island of Capri, will be the natural setting for Petrucci's work that will be permanently installed.
"Margine", with its 3 and a half meters high, is accompanied by an inscription "Serenity lies in the direction of how you look at things", a phrase that Petrucci dedicates to Alberto Del Genio, owner of the Fossa lo Papa estate, illustrious surgeon recognized in the world of international medical science, and sensitive passionate about contemporary art.
On the occasion of the opening, the album "The prodigy" produced by Satyr MB production and Contemply Art & Investment will be presented, with a tribute concert to Felix Mendelssohn by the Artemus Ensemble Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Alfonso Todisco.
“La finitudine non consente un movimento lineare continuo, ma suggerisce che giunti al punto, si possa curvare verso ulteriori prospettive. Ecco che la figura stessa può, ruotando di centottanta gradi, mostrare tutt’altro da sé, così come sempre l’arte fa, rispetto alla realtà."
Here too a combination of artistic languages, because Petrucci made the cover of the album with a tribute to Mendelssohn. Cover taken from a mixed media canvas that blends decollage, collage, painting, graphics, photography and four-color printing, on display until October 26, 2020 within the estate.
The Tower, restored in the 90s by the Del Genio family, has seen artists such as Hermann Nitsch, Beuys, Sh? Z? Shimamoto, Jimmie Durham, protagonists of singular performances.
Inside, there are in fact pieces of contemporary design and relics of artistic works left in homage or in memory of art events that took place over time.
The event is promoted by Contemply, a company that supports Nello Petrucci in his artistic projects.
